Job Purpose
Power County Juvenile Probation Officers monitor juveniles and their families to ensure that juvenile probationers comply with the conditions placed on their release into the community by the courts and to utilize the resources of Power County with the intention of assisting juvenile probationers in becoming successful members of the community.
Job Description
- To work in partnership with law enforcement agencies, schools, and other collateral agencies to ensure Community Protection.
- To assist the courts in the protection of the community by monitoring and enforcing the conditions of probation as ordered by the court.
- To assist with transporting juveniles to and from Region VI Juvenile Detention Center in Pocatello, ID.
- Protect society, hold offenders accountable, and assist juvenile offenders in competency development.
- File appropriate paperwork with the court.
- Perform random drug testing and home searches.
- To write reports and recommendations for the court and appear in court to testify on issues of compliance or violation of terms of probation.
- Assist probationers by identifying problems and referring to appropriate service providers.
- Act as a learning coach for juvenile probationer who attend the Idaho Virtual Academy.
- Organize and supervise the Power County Juvenile Probation Community Service program.
