To register and vote, you must:
- Be a citizen of the United States
- Be a resident of Idaho and Power County for thirty (30) days preceding the election
- Be eighteen (18) years of age, or older on Election Day
- Be registered as required by law
You are not eligible to vote if you have been:
- Convicted of a felony and your rights have not been restored
- Confined in prison on conviction of a criminal offense
You need to register again if you have:
- Changed your name
- Moved to a different address
- Not voted within the last four (4) years

Same Day Registration
You may register at the polls on election day by providing proof of residence. All documents used in providing proof of residence shall be accompanied with photo identification. Only the following documents showing the registrant’s current address in the precinct are authorized:
- A valid Idaho driver’s license issued through the department of transportation
- A valid Idaho identification card issued through the department of transportation
- Any document which contains a valid address in the precinct together with a picture identification card
- Students may also use a current valid student identification card from a post secondary educational institution in Idaho accompanied with a current student fee statement that contains the student’s valid address in the precinct together with a picture identification card
