Power County is situated in the heart of the Snake River Plain. The river offers some of the best trout fishing in the State and is also home to sturgeon and bass. With the abundance of waterfowl the area is well known for its seasonal duck and goose hunting.
For wildlife enthusiasts who prefer cameras and field glasses, the area directly below the American Falls Dam is home to over 200 different species of birds. The Deep Creek Mountain area is the winter home of large populations of bald eagles as well as the site of the Annual Hummingbird banding.
The mountains of Rockland and Arbon are home to deer, elk and moose. Other areas of the county offer opportunity for off-road vehicles, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Yellowstone, Sun Valley, Jackson Hole and the Wasatch ski resorts are equidistant from home at about 2-3 hours.
Power County borders the Great Rift and is adjacent to Craters of the Moon National Monument.
